The City and County of Denver is the 19th largest city and metropolitan area in the U.S., Capital of the State of Colorado and home to over 735,000 residents. Located in the South Platte River valley at an altitude of 5280 feet, it is often referred to as the Mile High City. It boasts more green belts and parks than any other city in the nation. It is also home to the nation’s third busiest airport, world class sports and entertainment. A thriving artistic and music community and a walkable downtown area packed with restaurants and shops makes it one of the most attractive cities to live in the U.S.A. In 2016 Denver was named the best place to live in the U.S. by U.S. News and World report. Denver is home to many families and young professionals and leans progressive.
